Appointment


Appointment usually we use to promise something to someone and that person can accepts or refuse the appointment. But sometimes, we can cancel the appointment that we have made for someone because a reason.
An appointment sentence, usual used simple present and simple future tense. Below is the example dialog that shows about two girls that making appointment to have lunch together.

Jannief : “Flint, do you fancy going for lunch?”
Flint  : “Yeah, why not?”
Jannief : “Emm.., after school at Sun’s food stall?”
Flint  : “Sounds great!”
Jannief : “Ok, see you there!”
Flint  : “See you…”.

And below are some expressions we can use to make and accept an appointment.

Will you pick me up at 2 p.m?
What if we go cycling on car free day next Sunday?
Will you go out with me tonight?
What if we go swimming this afternoon?
I’ll come to your house at 3 p.m, is it allright?
Ok, I’ll be there on time.

I’m sorry I can’t meet you today. I have to see my dentist. Can we reschedule?
We’re terribly sorry we have to cancel our appointment. Mr. Tanaka’s flight is delayed for two hours.
I’m afraid I have to defer our appointment because I have urgent business to do.
Sorry, I can’t meet you this weekend, since I have another appointment.
That’s Ok.
